What is the Pillars Club?

A community's growth is a reflection of its leaders . . . of those whose vision transcends the present . . . of those who build the foundation . . . for improving the quality of life now and tomorrow. The United Way of Gratiot County Pillars Club invites you to join other leaders who have a concern for our community and the needs of its people.

Every community has its leaders - that special group of people who, without hesitation, accept the challenge and set the pace, making their community a better place to live.

The United Way of Gratiot County Pillars Club brings together and salutes those concerned community leaders who have made personal contributions of $250 or more. These members are deeply involved in the welfare of the Gratiot County community, and they express their concern through the voluntary leadership they provide for others.

There are three defined levels of giving and recognition in the Pillars Club:

Golden Pillar $1,000 and up

Silver Pillar $500 to $999

Bronze Pillar $250 to $499

The Pillars Club provides a solid foundation and framework for continued growth and caring. Your generous gifts of financial support and leadership are the key to solving community problems - the real measure of success of the United Way of Gratiot County.

What is the Conerstone Society?

It has been said that it “Takes A Community to Raise A Child” and indeed that is what is represented in the Cornerstone Society.

The Cornerstone Society was established in 1996 to recognize companies that go above and beyond to support the United Way.

There are three defined levels of giving and recognition in the Cornerstone Society:

Golden Pillar $2,000 and up

Silver Pillar $1,000 to $1,999

Bronze Pillar $250 to $999

These philanthropic contributions assist United Way in providing the financial support to the health and human service agencies in our community.

The Cornerstone Society was expanded in 1998 to include employee giving. Many individuals give and United Way wanted a way to recognize groups of individuals who give from various companies. Therefore, a new group was created to the many individuals who give. The same level of giving was maintained for this group.

The Cornerstone Giving list is published and distributed throughout the county.
